Not quite a Classic yet but a nice ride around the Loop with coffee and a stretch in Port Renfrew.

Final ride of the season for the Voyager. Took the back-way home from coffee this morning via Harrison Lake with a stop at Heywood Jablome Lake:

After I returned from coffee June was looking to go for a short ride and head to the Ranch for lunch. I scoured for a bolt that I could put into my shift lever as I lost the other one twice this year so might have to order a couple more for spares.
Here is a pic from a nice afternoon

HEY WHEELS........lock-tight...or welding should cure your lost bolts. Or you could put in an extra long bolt and double nut it. Just a few ideas from a biker who doesn't worry about vibration loosening things. Sorry 'bout that. NOT ! GEEZ I'm cruel cuz it's nearly the end of the riding season. CURSES !

No room to double nut it as it is a very streamlined shift lever (being a Harley) and the little object just screws into a threaded hole with very little clearance to the engine case. I take my parts apart too often to polish so welding not an option and I would likely burn the house down if I tried welding. Locktite is overrated and most of it ends up on the floor or all over my clean threads.
I will just keep a couple spares and tape them on the side of my helmet.

From experience (not personal) I can suggest another route....putting in a bolt with a different thread count. Guaranteed not to come out!

Bill that is not really such a bad idea. I have crossthreaded nuts and bolts before and they have lost their torque quality but can never find their way back out as the path as gone. I guess these things are like the Norton and you get used to what comes loose and simply tighten them up on each cleaning before a ride. Did I mention the spark plugs were so loose a week ago on the XLCR there was fuel and oil pumping out the threads but they never left their threads. I also ride with two sets of plugs on that bike as cannot seem to lean it out from the giant SS Carb the PO stuck on the outside of the manifolds. Makes it run good from 45 to 55 mph and thats about it.
