Lol....the traffic thing is a myth. You coming in Aug? I told everyone here to vacate the area just for you.  Grin

Me and the co-pilot got away for 3 days on the ST1100.  First time we've taken the bike off the Island, first real ride Lisa has done on the bike. Ran flawlessly, and yet again proved itself to be the ultimate touring bike. Ran up to Merritt via Coldwater Rd, then the 5A to the Grandview Motel (would definitely stay at again). Had the best Indian food we've ever had (and that says something coming from Victoria) at Nandi's Flavour of India in Kamloops, and of course some good beer.

Beautiful morning as we walking down the hill into town

2018-05-24_09-22-09 by Rob Ert, on Flickr

from there we headed back to Logan Lk via Lac Le Jeune Rd which started off with 5 kms of dirt as they're resurfacing eventually. And just as we can see the pavement in the distance a small lake had over flowed across the road, the water just touched the bottom of the pipes.... Grin  always an adventure.   From Logan's Lk we took Tunkwa Lk Rd....amazing country, just amazing. The road was a real pleasure to ride (never been on it before), by all means it has it's rough spots and wild cattle but that just makes you go slower and take in the scenery, right up until you crest the top of the hills and see the lake way below you only to find out the road is washed out and the detour is dirt, mud, single lane with wash boarding on the corners.........more adventure. Regardless we made it down and on to Cache Creek where there is no good food other than Subway, sure wished we had chosen it.  Back up to Logan's Lk via the 97c which we've never been on, nor had we ever seen the Cooper Mine...shocking, just shocking. Carried on down to Merritt and stayed at the Quality Inn (again a real nice place with a good breakfast to boot). Monday morning it was down the Nicola valley to Spences Bridge, good god more beautiful scenery and home via the Fraser Canyon. A perfect 3 days of riding enjoyed by all...accept for my ass, my seat needs a recondition for sure. Luckily Lisa's back side was more than comfortable but mine section has seen better days. I had to laugh, the pictures I've posted are virtually all I took, ha,ha.. to busy enjoying the ride I guess.

That's been my back yard for 30 years living in Kamloops and Merritt. Drop by for a visit next time your through, I'm between Kamloops and Savona. I've been kinda taing those desolate roads for granted.

Yes, we sometimes take our excellent local roads for granted Mark. We are on the east side of town in Barnhartvale and always looking for an excuse to ride. Janice and I were in La Conner for the weekend but usually at home and all are welcome to drop by.

I'll remember those offers in the future for sure. My sister lives up on Lone Butte so we'll likely be up your way again this season on the bike.

Damn sorry to see that.  Glad you weren't hurt too bad.  Chrome and aluminum can be replaced and restored.  Old bodies, not so much.
