If you had gone to Savage on Friday you could have had a proper ride....
The company reps were a little, dare I say arrogant.....
I rode the naked 750S really nice bike for the price

It was demo day on Sunday.
Ride #1. CTX1300
Heavier than it looks but really light once you get moving. Low speed throttle is very touchy. Suspension is very stiff, you feel every road imperfection. Stock windscreen does little. Not a bad bike but a tad overpriced.
Ride #2. Valkyrie
150 some odd pounds lighter than a Goldwing. I fit the bike very well. Corners pretty good. Stupid fast, pulls hard in any gear at any rpm... Well worth the $20k they want for it... Time to save my nickels!
Ride #3. CBR600RR
This bike is small and way too small for me. The Twinstar fits me better. The bike is fast, loud, and from 6000 to 15000 rpm pulls very hard. The only comfortable way to ride is weight forward, full tuck, balls to the wall. Trying to ride slow or in traffic is uncomfortably painful. The CBR1000 is a much better fit in all ways. This would be a very fun bike for someone shorter than 5'6 to hoon through the mountains!

We moved to Penticton in 2013. Great roads and great weather, much better than up north.

True enough... but it is a thing of beauty and a joy to behold if it is parked beside a Honda Ruin. (Rune)!

And I thought I was the only old Fart still riding a legend. Mine originally had the Vetter Fairing, but it was in poor shape so I went back to the Stock headlight and turn signals. Mine doesn't have the chrome fenders, but otherwise looks much the same. Damn fine machines ! What brand luggage...Samsonite?

Yup, Samsonite luggage, I have the side bags as well. I really like the Vetter for the cooler fall/winter/spring but I also like it for the storage capacity. I was wanting to leave my Vetter on over the summer but was worried about being too hot behind it. The black vetter you see in the picture actually came with a shorter shield so all is perfect. My first shaft was a 79' 850, the 1000G is just as good but better. It's the best all round bike I think. Since mine is an 80 it as well is supposed to have a painted fender, I'll get to that later in the year.

The Samsonite was nice luggage. The first year 850 ('79) had chrome fenders, which I assume would fit on several years of both 1000 and 850.
