Rocco's Deli is great.

Food was good, coffee was good, did some shopping and brought home a few groceries.

I finally found a place that sells Brio soda, I haven't had that stuff in years!

Brio!

How very Italian.

Walmart carries it in Penticton in the Italian food section - not in the pop section.

Either I am getting old or they are using less Angostura Bitters in it - it tastes milder. We used to mix our own when it was in short supply. At one point Pure Spring had the licence to bottle it in Canada.

Also I think it had Caffeine in the old days.

Still a refreshing treat and not sickly sweet like "corny" syrup Coke.

That's why there is a black market for Mexican Coke.( that would be Coca-Cola). There is a belief that it is made with Cane Sugar and is better tasting.

Urban myth or not the "Original" formula does not taste as I remember it.

Yes, the Mrs Twin and I bring back a case of mexi-coke every time we head to Washington.

It tastes a lot better than the stuff here.

Actually, you've kinda piqued my interest as well, I've never had a Brio myself. Guess I'll be making a trip dwon to Rocco's to see what the fuss is about.

Shhh...

Brio is actually Canadian.

It was started by a couple Italians in one of the eastern provinces.

It's just hard to find on the west coast.

Mostly right Shawn.  The full name of the beverage is Brio Chinotto which is a cola style drink with less sugar and orange bitters added - originally chinotto fruit and herbs. "Chinotto" is made in many countries and varies according to local taste. San Pellegrino and Coca cola make it in some countries. The cola version (Brio) is now licensed by Purity Beverages which I believe used to be Pure Springs as you say back east and is only available in Canada.

I was very surprised to find it in Walmart - probably won't be there long - it is too good to be stocked there for long.

The first line up shows my Z1R with a rear flat. After Roy?? used his electric air pump to inflate the tire I stopped at the Esso on Austin and gave it a full 50 pounds to make it home. I put a new tube in it and everything is OK now. I like Rocco's for breakfast but they should sweep the lot more. Shocked

Some of the guys haven't been there since it re-opened.

I ran into a guy with a nicely caffed yamaha single and told him we would be there otherwise i will wait and re-direct him
