Frank, I'm 100% certain that Stan was being facetious.
Kurt was a nice guy and got a hearty "Welcome Aboard" from all of us.
His bike wasn't noisy, nothing fell off and was plenty fast as Stan stated.
Probably why Harley quit building the FXR, it just couldn't live up to the HD legacy.

I got that, but I also like to see a good mix of marques... Keeps things on an even keel..
The FxR,s were great bikes.., cant say I totally lovedthe look from the factory, but were a great platform..

Thank you all for accepting me in your club and for letting me follow you on your ride after. Just so you know I did go home and tightened up all nuts and bolts on the H-D. The Harley legend continues.

Thanks for joining us Kurt. The Norton broke a muffler bolt in two, the right exhaust collar backed off (again) and one of the starter mount bolts had come completely off. I better start riding at the rear from now on

Say what you will about Harley Reliability...BUT....my experiences with my first 5 English bikes was less than thrilling. I can't recall how many times I came home with my bike(s) in the back of friend's pick up trucks in the early days. Broken chains, throttle cables, clutch cables, etc. etc. After a time I started carrying spare cables and switched them out on the roadside. I had more problems with my first few English machines than I have had with all my Japanese bikes combined. My Hinkley Triumph 900 Trophy was reliable, but the ergonomics didn't work for my girl friend de jour, so it had to go. If the Princess is happy, the kingdom is happy. RIGHT?
