Shawn, just to add to the discussion this morning and not to offend any engineers on our website but here's my thought from my experience of over 35 years of crappy braking on my motorcycle whilst my car seemed to be okay in the rain.   First most of the engineers that I have met simply could not ride a motorcycle without falling off and puncturing themselves with a pen. They sit in airtight rooms designing fantastic things yet need help operating a vending machine if they have incorrect change in their purses. We all need engineers ( okay no we really don't)  The brakes on a car are inboard and therefore do not pick up much moisture but also stay warm enough to dissipate moisture as it arrives on a straightaway.  They have one other thing that bikes don't have and that is a huge amount of pressure applied to the brake through the foot and power assistance to quickly heat up and create friction.   On our bikes the brakes are wide open in the air which is super for cooling but not good when water and stuff builds up on a long straight with no application of braking.  I am not sure about some of our modern bikes but I have yet to see and don't want to see power assistance so we rely on a few fingers to brake our bike.  If you are riding in the rain it is just part of the routine to drag a finger on the brake and just feel the pulse as you are riding down the straight.
As I said above I am no engineer but have hit the brakes in the rain many times and it almost seemed like the bike was speeding up for a brief moment before taking hold.

For what its worth

How about Vibrato's in Coquitlam for Sunday coffee?  Weather forecast is "cold".

Cheers,

Sounds a bit like a frustrated technician.  Roll Eyes

That's right....engineers come up with ideas, and technicians make it work.....

So true Mr. Dog
I was named Stanfromhell by an engineer who became a bit frustrated by all the problems I discovered with his design when we took the machine out of the factory and put it to work on the railroad. Grin
Together, we made a great product.

Any suggestions for coffee on Sunday?  Not sure I'll be there, but  I'd like to know the location just in case.
