Hey Ross, hope all is o.k. with you. We miss you too, only John left here to defend Kawasaki honor. I'll take a stab at profiling my end of the table.

The turnout was about 10 at the Hilltop, seated at our usual back table. It was the usual band of monkeys with 2 new guests. Sixtogo was in town from Vernon (?) so he found his way out to break bread with the Valley boys. Always good to see him. And Mervin rolled up on the most outrageous sidecar rig any of us have seen in quite some time. A big Cavalcade with a two place chair big enough for your mother-in-law. Sorry, no pics, but trust me....she was a lulu. Shawn and Roy defended our honor as a bike club, the rest of us caged it.

After a full breakfast, and a belly full of banter, it was suggested by someone  that we all needed to see Shawn's progress on his turbo project so 5 or 6 of us followed him to his shop and were suitably impressed. Should be a riot when running. After that all departed to enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend.

How about we give there Greater Vancouver guys a break from the commute and bridge tolls and meet at Vibrato's in Coquitlam this Sunday.

Wish I could be there. Expecting 5-10cm snow tomorrow with 30kph gusting to 60kph tomorrow, -9C tonight.

Stan I was thinking Vibratos myself and you beat me to the punch!  Motolobo will be happy with that.    I will pack the remaining calendars with me bike or no bike regardless of the weather.

Works for me although I do enjoy the ride out the new South Frazer Perimeter road aka 17.
I have noticed a radar stop set up just this side of the new Port Mann a couple of times.
They like to sit just on the Surrey side of the peculiar bridge also, ask me how I know

Roy,   the cops are there all day and all night long on that stretch of 4 lane divided road writing tickets.    I have looked high and low around there for a donut shop and seemingly cannot find one, so I am not sure what the attraction is for them there.  I could be just one rogue cop who hates the public and just never clocks out and stays under the bridge with his radar all day long sorta like a troll

Its not about safety as its wider and longer than Mission Dragstrip so quite capable of 300 miles per hour one would think?

Yes, while I was stopped getting taxed a minivan got pulled up.
The cop wrote out a ticket for the driver then walked around the other side and gave a ticket to the guys wife for no seat belt.
It's strictly revenue gathering just like the ones on Columbia near the skytrain bridge, the speed limit there is only 30 kph

Yup ... and about 6 blocks up the hill the drug peddlers on bicycles, hookers and the deadbeats selling the stuff they stole from peoples cars and garages last night are roaming the streets  free and unmolested.

Drug dealer carry guns nowadays, if I were a cop, I'd hand out tickets any chance I got.

I guess my understanding is way off,  I thought their philosophy was to serve and protect? 

Serve who and protect who seems to be their biggest issue from what I see.   Whilst the cops are out running over, shooting, tazering people while making drug deals to protect us under their contract as Cuzzin suggests is beyond me. They surely are not robots are they?    At least the firefighters and paramedics are there to serve and protect us and I have nothing but high respect for how they help us through our difficult moments.

Cops just create difficult moments from my perspective and they have not gained my respect regionally and cannot vouch for elsewhere.   They should use their best judgment when enforcing laws and that seems to be a lost art in British Columbia.

Common sense and good judgement have gone out the window nowadays, on both sides of the law.

When my buddies and I were being hooligans, around highschool age, we got a lot of "you boys need to go home now" from officer friendly but never anything serious.

If I were the same age, doing the same stupid stuff now, I'd probably have a record.
