How about coffee in Squamish.  Meet at my place and head up there for coffee.  We could pick up the Vancouver folks at the church that is at the Taylor Way hwy 1 on-ramp.

Any other suggestions?

Will have to pass this week as have some golf commitments on Sunday.     By the way I need to thank the two Norton owners ( cannot recall their names) who shared some time, thoughts and a bit of tinkering with me last Sunday morning as the bike is running tremendous now and I don't want to shut it off. I know those two fellas read this site often and thank you to both and hope to see you at future coffee meetings.  Speaking of not wanting to shut the bike off.....  I always let my bike cool off for a while before parking it in the garage.  Decided to walk upstairs and pour a glass of wine and sit on the patio while she cooled off.  Fired up this website which as usual put me to sleep. This is when the Prince of Darkness slipped in and took control of the situation.  After being roused awake by a giant lick in the face by my tiny dog looking for a meal I went out to park the bike.

The headlight was on.....   Next step turn the ignition off as I must have left the key in and ignition on.  The ignition key was on the workbench and ignition was off hmmm.   Thinking the Norton was like my computers at home and work I smartly remembered those voices in my ear from my children saying Dad try rebooting the thing and it will work again.    Put the key in the Norton turned it on and pushed to go button... made a clicking noise like a bunch of pressurized gas going through a very tiny orifice. 

Okay battery dead no problem I have one of those kick start lever things,  one kick and pop and smoke out the carbs so I know it has life in it.  Second kick and she fires and runs perfect. Turned it off and the headlight went out as it should.   Looks like the backfire on the first kick scared off the Prince of Darkness and the curse has been removed.

So lets see I have had the bike since April,  ran outta fuel twice ( never before in any machine in 53 years),  covered the bike once in oil from slightly overfilling ( couple ounces of oil can go for miles on a bike and it mostly gravitates to the tires to mate with its rubber siblings)  Had the headlight either turn itself on for a few hours killing the battery,  had a mirror vibrate off the handlebar while riding only to snag it in the air and stuff it in my jacket before it obliterated itself on the highway and flattened somebody riding on a Whizzer on the shoulder of the road at 20 miles per hour. To top it off the kind gentleman at the gas station that came over and was obviously impressed by my British beauty and said " didn't they stop makin' those things"
Guess the bike is a keeper as it is much too needy to let someone else have it,  might have to get rid of the other bikes now and put all attention to the needy one.

Kick...  Start....Huh?

How do those work?

Too bad Honda didn't see fit to put one on the CX/GL engines.

Guess the bike is a keeper as it is much too needy to let someone else have it,  might have to get rid of the other bikes now and put all attention to the needy one.

So, any other ideas than Squamish for coffee?  If not, meet at my house at 9:00AM, 443 Garrett Street New Westminster, around back in the lane/garage.  I'll have a quick coffee for us ready to go.  We'll head off and meet up with anyone from Vancouver at the church on the Hwy1 Taylor Way on ramp 9:30ish.  We'll decide then where we'll have coffee/breakfast.

I'm not stuck on this plan, so if there any other ideas, just say so.  If you guys would rather have coffee locally, I'm down with that.

How about a quick coffee rendezvous at Vibratos in Coquitlam (give Garth a chance to show  Grin),everyone should now know where that is, and then we ride to Howe Sound Brewpub in Squamish for an early lunch/brunch (not sure when they open)? Or breakfast at the '99' in Britannia Beach (is it still there?). After that it's maybe a small backroad run up through Brackendale, and then....home?

But I'm good with any consensus  Cool.

Any suggestions for coffee on Sunday?  How about the Wired Monk?  Works for Roy and I, the Patullo Bridge is closed for repairs this weekend. 

I'll not be going for a ride afterward.  Working 6 days a week sucks. 

Shawn, how about bringing that stator for show and tell?  Anyone else have anything for show and tell?

Stan,  will bring the Sena with me.   Did you want to look at the instruction manual also as I can probably leave it all with you for a week if you want to play with it a bit.
