June and I are back up here in the deep freeze watching the ducks skating in the lake and the fishermen fishing from huts with some sort of concoction in green bottles to keep them warm.

Some desert this is.

And, you're in the warm part of the Okanagan.

We were surprised how quickly Osoyoos Lake froze across, as viewed on the local Global news every evening.

Yes we were only away for less than two weeks and the lake has frozen as well as Vaseux lake.    The lower part of Skaha is ice up to Kaleden.   On a good note look at the weather back home in Vancouver this week!

In Dog Beers I've only had one.

In 1986, Skaha Lake froze, with no wind and no snow.   The ice was like glass, and one could see fish below the ice.   A friend and I skated from Penticton almost to OK Falls...magic.

Really good craft brewer in olde town PV. Los Muertos I think.

Went there (in old town) after brunch today after hiking up to The Cross.  Place was packed.  Didn’t at all feel Covid comfortable.  They have several outlets around.  There’s one that has big pizza ovens as well only 1.6 km from our resort.  Will get there one day this week.
[/quote

Went to Los Muertos Craft Brewery and Pizza for supper.  20 minute walk from our resort.  Good craft beer and pizza.  Only one size of pizza, large.  Thin crust, choose your sauce and all toppings.  I recommend it.

Ended up at Los Muertos in old town for lunch today.  Another flight of beers.  Burgers and wings.  Very good.  Classic rock on the sound system, excellent service.  Their retail store is a block away.  Also I think where the brewery is.  It’s a really well decorated as well.  Lots of big wood beams and half beer barrels turned into light fixtures.  Would be a great spot to spend time just drinking beer.  Opens at 3:00.

Roy, Roy, Roy…you know as well as anyone that threads have a way weaving into a fabric.  I was thinking of you all, as I was beer tasting in Los Muertos Brewing.  Please don’t be bitter.  Although I was trying to generate some envy.  The warmth, sun and sea were much preferable to cold and snow and darkness.

Not sure I’ll be at coffee.  We were chosen for PCR testing upon arrival at YVR last night.  We now are required to isolate until we get the test results.  That could take until Monday evening.  They say it will take 4 to 72 hours. Our pre departure tests were negative.

Yes, I also thought it was a requirement for all.  Despite the government’s grandiose announcement, they haven’t the resources to test everyone.  So arrivals are randomly selected for testing.  It added about 35 minutes to exit the airport.

I just have a bad case of cabin fever thats all.
I missed the last 3 coffee meetings to avoid any possibility of catching as much as a cold that would cancel my appointment.
I know some of you prefer the Airport but it was getting a little too cosy for me with this new strain rampant.
I will be at the Fort on Sunday Grin

Yes.  There’s o requirement to quarantine in government approved hotels as it was early in the pandemic.  In fact the government communications really suck.  We weren’t actually expressly told to isolate.  But when they more recently announced arrival testing for all, they also said at that time, that isolation was required pending test results.

So now, I’m not really sure if it’s actually required.  Those people who were not selected for testing upon arrival have no restrictions at all.  But my wife, who is a nurse and a stickler for rules, has determined thaws shall isolate.
