That sounds like a good location and I have thought of that a few times when driving by the airport  ( is it not the old Chilliwack Airport team that are now doing the baking there? )  We travelled through Washington last week and are back in Osoyoos so hoping to be home for Christmas and New Years to check in with everyone before heading back here.  Sure nice walking down the lake and streets and everyone says hello to you, we will not miss the city and our only complaint is it is too quiet but we can adjust in time.

How difficult is the ArrriveCan app John?

How difficult is the ArrriveCan app John?

It's really simple and only takes a few minutes to set up.  I used it to return from Pt Roberts a few days ago.  You download the app and add 'travelers' that will be reported using the app.  You add (and save) 'travellers' info by scanning their passports (the app does the scanning) or adding the information manually, and enter the vaccination history information.  When you do a trip, you simply select the travelers from your saved list, fill out a short survey and submit.  The result will be QR code that you can keep on your phone or print but it's also synced with your passport so customs will see the info when they scan your passport (i.e. the QR code shouldn't be required at the border but can be used as proof is something goes south).

Note that you can set up and use ArriveCAN from your phone or it can all be done online if you don't have a cell phone.  https://arrivecan.cbsa-asfc.cloud-nuage.canada.ca/welcome

That’s awesome!! I downloaded the app couple months ago. Wondered out loud what CBSA considers viable “proof” of my time, inside the 72 hr window currently acceptable (gas or milk receipt etc). I drive to Aldergrove crossing last Tuesday after work to enquire in person about making sure I do this correct in their eyes. Got a particularly snarky ass CBSA ‘representative’, not very helpful, offended that I should even consider a solo drive 6 miles south of the border whilst interacting with no other human except him or his ilk. When I asked if proof that they get automatically a shot  of my vehicles’ license plate and presence heading out of Canada was good enough, I got furry eye brows and immediate attention from all 4 of the civil servants. The guy said I cannot answer that question,,,,which he totally did!  I told them I just want to do it correct.
My US mail box is still not usable (Package Express in Sumas), so will hold off until next weekend until I start considering ordering stuff again for free delivery in the lower 48.
So they did not ask for proof of minimum 71.95 hr outside of Canada???

Yes as Bucko said it was very simple to set up.  When we arrived at Oroville June had our passports handy but was fumbiling around with her cell phone to show the app to the Customs agent.  He told her dont bother he could see us in the computer and just needed to verify our names were a match.
No D/L,  no Vac cards were needed to be shown.
It was a good quick experience and I know have a bit more faith in our customs agents at both ends of the trip.   The only way it could have been better would be if the route 20 was open as it would have saved us much time.    It has a seasonal closure so we took the route 2 from Everett to Wenatchee then hooked on to the 97 northbound.

In my case, they did not ask how long I'd been in the US - which is a little odd since they've always asked before (long before COVID became a thing).

Where’s coffee tomorrow morning. Fort or the airport, good for either, although the airport is dry and warm.

Well Steve you missed a good one, especially if you like show and tells and we also had a special guest who showed up and left by private helicopter.

Maybe see you next time.
