Yes it will be interesting to see what happens this week.
Perhaps we will still be able to take a solo ride, you can't get much more isolated than that.
Even though we kept our distance on Sunday some people might have perceived it as too close when we were standing talking.
Really Dave and John should be OK since they live in the same house anyway.
My wife and I are trying to figure out if its OK to go for walks together.
What are the thoughts on this?
I’ve been a bit of a germophobe for decades since my Two bouts of phenomena, and a bit of a single soldier anyways. Crazy stuff really to anyone else, holding my breath downwind of persons I perceive or know to be unhealthy, place myself upwind. Extreme rare mass transit use finds me always touching nothing. At work I’ve even managed to convince my employer to take alot of door knobs off doors so I can just push the doors open with a foot or elbow. I also demanded years ago that I get my own electric door fob to open all the over head doors so I don’t have to share buttons. Grocery shopping has always been a concerted plan on how to avoid shared touching,,,,,shopping baskets I grab through the side mesh on the side or grab from the bottom. I mean have you seen how dirty people are that go shopping? Or kids sitting in shopping carts picking their nose??? Yeah I’m crazy.
This current virus has incredible ability to transfer, and most humans on earth have already had it on their body, cloths, or personal objects. Most of us will probably get it, most of us will barely show signs of infection and our bodies will defend against it successfully just as the other seasonal viruses that show up on new morphed form each year. Old and compromised people should be concerned. 100’s of thousands die each year of the regular flu. There’s never been any shut down of everything. I’m not reducing the seriousness of this new virus. It’s new, it will always be with us now, each year it’s new morphed form will have to be matched with a new flu shot. Seriously though, this is a game changer as far as crowd gathering in the future and many people will now reconsider a venue of an event as to whether they attend or not. I haven’t been to a hockey game or concert in 15 years. Call me nuts, I’m
Ok with that.

My daughter came back from SFU last weekend, she is keeping her distance from us staying downstairs. Really trying to stay away from us most of the time. We have the odd meal together, but she eats a lot downstairs.
Her roommates Aunt had come over from China to visit around the 7th, and my daughter had been at Whistler on the 14th and 15th... so she decided to be careful..
Be careful out there..
My thoughts have been it won't be long before a few people crack and lose it, and do strange stuff... or decide they can't live like this. ... I think that is coming..

Uh, Frank, I think most young adults try to avoid their parents, virus or not.

I had one of my drivers quit as he said this was the end of the world and he needed to go home and prepare for it.
This was a driver I respected and was always well spoken hope he comes to his senses and returns. Funny how everyone takes this differently, we have a few working from home lately but I ate my pound of dirt when I was a child so am immune to most of this junk I hope. Didnt have peanut, lactose or gluten problems in my younger days that I recall and we could eat anything, including our pound of dirt out in the back yard.

My parents used to give my little brother and I a serious scold while growing up in Crescent Beach, as little tikes, for eating those prized green slugs in the back yard long grass. Hey,,,,,,escargot!

If you watch or listen to too much news its easy to see how he would think that way

Having not much else to do, I spend way too much time watching the news. Had to stop. Was freaking out. But keep getting sucked back in.

Agreed on too much news. Social media seems to magnifiy the news and make it sound much worse than it really is. Fact checking has become the new social science.

Be careful reading on the main internet..
A lot of nutters painting a bleak scenario of what they think or expect ( Imagine) will happen next.
Don't get sucked into their paranoia.

Speaking of the news have the protesters dissappeared or are they now second fiddle and not getting any news time?

CN and CP quietly set the trains in motion again while the news was focused elsewhere.

One of the economic indicators I follow is rail traffic. You can see the chart (updated each Wed) if you click on the link. There was a dip due to the protests but things have recovered. Interestingly there doesn't yet seem to be any dip due to the corona virus.
If you look at the buttons on the right you can filter the type of rail traffic to see what's moving and what's not. Intermodal is the term they use for containers on rail cars.
