Even when you think you are following the rules the TP police bite you.
Yesterday morning we had a planned and deliberate route for groceries and supplies and back home quickly.
Junes friend arrived from India on Friday and is doing the two week isolation thing.  Linda gave June a list over the phone and while at Save On we thought we would pick up a few sundries of our own including dinner.
Linda needed TP and we were lucky as they were just stocking the shelves so we grabbed one for her then June suggested it would not be a bad idea to grab one for our household.
Now the problem is we got to the checkout and were using one cart so obviously we were together however purchasing for two families.  It was at that time that the TP Police came by and took the second object away and even after June pleading about the isolated person she did not budge.   The cashier apologized and that was not necessary as it was not her problem.
Going forward I will dispatch one of my trucks to Save On and use my trusty Smith and Wesson (no bullets in gun) to hold everyone at bay while we load the unit to capacity.
The goods will then be available to the BCCMC from my warehouse for everyone except those that dont give a S#*t!

Typical "Search for the guilty and punish the innocent."  I wonder what the TP cop would have said if you had told him/her Fxxk you!  I'm keeping it!

One of the Wife's nieces lives in Australia, she saw a young guy wheeling a cart loaded down with TP and went crook at him.
He said thanks lady, now can I go and re-stock the shelves, she reckons she's never going back in that supermarket.

It was a great ride today, 7 riders, we kept our distance. Peter leading, Dave and his Son John, Malcolm on his Guzzi 1400, Shawn, Ross and I, I don't like our chances of doing something like that again any time soon.

Yes, Bob and I went to Spanish banks, so many dogs unleashed and wanting to sniff you out, don't the owners even think they can transfer the virus?

Virus is pretty "fragile"....although can survive a couple of days on hard, smooth surfaces, like grocery cart handles, but only a couple of hours on soft, furry surfaces, like clothing or pet hairs.......carry and use your hand sanitizer frequently when you are out and about, and don't pass up a chance to wash with soap and water, which is about the most effective neutralizer of viruses (Virii?) available.

I appreciate that many of you live in closer proximity to people than we do in the Interior, but be calm, careful, and watchful.

Dogs are not the problem, other things like surfaces you touch things you pass around ..cutlery , money, drink containers,  food ,
 But they say copper items kills it off quick..
 It's so bad in France  you are only allowed to kiss one cheek .....for now.....

My self isolating ride up the canyon was very good. Very light traffic going either way. Took the GL1500. Like riding on a cloud. Saw 3 other motorcylists. Was a little cool but not freezing.

Did a minor shop this afternoon.  Traffic pretty sparse, and mall stores not open, except for the drug store and Super market.  Did major wipe down/cleaning when home.  Even wiped down the little bit of cash in my wallet, as well as the various credit cards.  Not something you even think about, just whip it out, tap etc.  So far so good.

  I spent my second day unemployed (crazy, I don’t much give a s$$&) attending to back yard duties, setting up
my rain water collection system, cutting up some big branches the last wind storm brought down. Decided to pedal bike to my way around to my local supply places. Insurance agent open but maximum 1 person. BCL open but maximum 15. 50% of restaurants appear to have set up a takeout only. GNC nutrition sold out of all vitamins, as was Saveon.
 I think this virus situation will definitely alter and chance society, and probably causing a defensive measure physically for a long while.

I was talking about that with my brothers today.  Recent surveys have shown that many Canadians are living paycheck to paycheck and don't have as much as $200 in emergency funds.  But they've got the big house, the big truck and the big payments.  It's going to be hard on them to make it through this crisis, which is looking to last until a vaccine is developed....maybe a year or so down the road.

Anyone who grew up during the depression in the 1930's developed a life long conservative approach to spending money.  After the last 10 years of record borrowing perhaps less spending is a good thing.

You know, the bit about our parents and the depression resonates with me a lot as I got the gardening, canning, preserving and conserving big from my parents; and apparently really badly. My wife thinks our two gardens are way too big that canning as much as I do, making jam and pickling stuff along with freezing vegetables is just crazy!'n well who is laughing now.... we are just finishing our potatoes from the garden have onions aplenty along with canned tomatoes and all of the conserved stuff and freezer is good. Always insist there is a spare of everything we use in the larder. Yes, borderline but not so crazy now eh???

Well, if Shawn’s bike broke down, my Z1 ran perfectly.  Hadn’t ridden it since fall.  A few of us had gone up to Mt. Baker, and I rode all day on three cylinders. 

The #2 hole was dead cold.  I did all the checks, compression (perfect), valves (perfect), spark (perfect), timing (perfect), fuel supply.  That left only the carbs.  The suspect #2 carb was ultrasonic cleaned.  Found one of the passage plugs had fallen out.  So I got the carbs back together, but badly tuned.  Then using a Colourtune, got them close and bedded it down for the winter.  Last Thursday, I did a 10 minute ride to read the plugs.  Some mixture adjustments were made.

Yesterday when Roy and I arrived at the ride rendezvous point, I pulled the plugs to read them.  All very good.  I reckoned they would be, ‘cause she ran like a demon. 

Peter lead us at a brisk pace out around Sumas Mountain to the Sumas PetroCan (“tap pay” at the pump).  Tim Horton's won’t allow you to walk up to the pick-up window, by the way.  Weather was really good if a bit chilly. 

Could be difficult to get out in the near future.  We’ll see how it goes.  Won’t surprise me if the province goes into lockdown this week.  Let’s hope not.

At least my Green Hornet is running a treat.  Man I love the sounds it makes.  The four pipes and top feed air box combine to make addictive exhaust and induction growl and howl.  Yee haa!!

Yes it will be interesting to see what happens this week.
Perhaps we will still be able to take a solo ride, you can't get much more isolated than that.
Even though we kept our distance on Sunday some people might have perceived it as too close when we were standing talking.
Really Dave and John should be OK since they live in the same house anyway.
My wife and I are trying to figure out if its OK to go for walks together.
What are the thoughts on this?

Regarding walks with your honeybunch, one would imagine that you could be even closer inside the house, and sharing many surfaces from which to get the virus, if it is in your house.   Restrict your contact with people outside your family, but don't avoid anybody inside the house.
