“Kacked” electricity function. Gosh, that term sums up all kinds of sweat inducing possibilities.

From my Fiat ownership experience, it's a bad ground.

So, Roy says he put the old condenser back in. Ran fine. Tried the new one again. No go. Put the old one back in again. Runs just fine.

I've had a ton of problems at work with new condensers failing.
I've found that ordering a Mallory unit is usually the fix. There's three, one for Chevy, one for Ford and one for AMC / Chrysler. Just figure out which one fits and use that. The condenser doesn't care what engine it is installed in.
Or just keep the old one until it fails.

I believe the condenser is open circuit, runs weakly but starts to miss as soon as I give it any throttle, It ran fine for the first day.
I think it's a knock off, neither the condenser or points have any marking.
I'm normally very careful where I buy my parts but this was to round out an order for a pair of gauge bezels.
Quite big outfit in San Diego, I won't say who until they have a chance to explain.
This type of condenser is stupidly simple, no reason for it to fail.

Happens to me all the time with offshore made condensers.
They sell so few that there is no quality control anymore.
It's bad enough that I have an old Delco condenser with alligator clips attached that I can just add to the circuit to see if it fixes the problem.
You can just add another one for some redundancy as well, it won't affect the operation and if one fails, the other one will still do the job until they both leave you somewhere.

Sounds like Boeing’s Max 8s could use some redundancy.

In a strange coincidence, we had a condenser fail in a '56 Crown Vic today.
The fix was a new condenser from Mallory.

Condensers used to be made by rolling together alternating layers of conductive and non conductive paper, I think we have forgotten how to do that.

My Maxi-Dwell ignition had Chevy points and solid state condensers, the size of a chicklet .. anyone know where to get those.
I think they were green..
Had a built in timing light too. Rev to 11,500 easily..

A condenser is just a capacitor.
I'd bet that you could swap in a ceramic capacitor with a value about 200 - 250 microfarads and it would work just fine. Some of them can be found in a really small case.
I'm not an electronics genius so there may be a reason they continue to use electrolytic capacitors.

They don't use electrolytic, they look a little bit like it but that's as far as it goes
i believe they are what's known as paper.

\What makes you think Electronic ignition is any more reliable?
