I enjoyed that.....one certainly can sense ones mortality at a "mature" age, but can still remember that feeling of being able to do anything, the hell with getting something a little bit wrong......

He could get rid of the jack by using a strong spring and foot pedal for a ot of work. I f the lower rotor were held firm on one side you would only have to tighten the far side.
 Wonder what a bowling ball is worth.... From the AMF years... Grin

If you want a small version, Pan a Vise makes them.. Even one with a Vacumn base you can use on desks, counters, coffee tables etc.
 And engraving vises use the ball too..

I just added that to the project list. I wonder if the Sally Ann ever gets bowling balls. I like the spring idea. Enough tension to hold in position, release with a foot pedal. Maybe a tension booster in case you need to tilt something heavy.
