Been topping up the gas tanks at end of season with Premium gas, then adding a good dollop of STA-BIL.  Just in case, I usually install the battery(s) during the Christmas break, fire up the beast(s) and let them run until well warmed, and the fresher gas in the tank has worked into the carbs.  Worked so far, (fingers crossed).  This was especially important back when I still had six cyl. CBX's as they were a bitch to start after a long layoff. Worked OK even for the winter I spent in Fort Mac-Hell back in the 90's.  Fingers crossed.  Oh yea, in the spring changed the over the winter oil after a few hundred kms.

One of the few benefits of ethanol is that it's hygroscopic.  It sucks up moisture.  When I put my bikes to sleep I add a little stabilizer and run the carbs dry.  But....a Kawasaki starts anywhere, anytime!! Grin

Both a benefit, and a curse. I choose avoidance, as a classic bike owner.

One of the few benefits of ethanol is that it's hygroscopic.  It sucks up moisture.

The trouble is mechanical agitation can cause the absorbed water in an ethanol/gasoline mix to phase separate out and sink to the bottom.
