Nickel is a common part of some stainless steels. It is also one of the magnetic elements, with some interesting characteristics of its own. Stainless pots meant for use on induction cooktops have to be magnetic.

We just purchased a new refrigerator , I was surprised to find that our fridge magnets stick to it.
I am used to stainless being non ferrous
the magnets won't stick to our stainless pots

so I did a google search and found this short video where the guy tries to explain the difference.

Most of the stainless I am used to is 316

Man, that song got played on the radio a lot!

This guy didn't sing many songs but this one may be his best, singing under a pretend name.

He is correct with respect to the Tesla self driving technology using cameras, but they also use radar.  According to my son they don't use Lidar.  My son worked for Cruze, who are the wholly owned GM self driving company.  He recently interviewed for the position of principal engineer for Tesla, and was offered the job but he declined because they don't have any interest in adding lidar.

I'm currently riding a Kona Dawg Delux, but thinking of electric.  The pillar for the seat post is broken.  The gears and chain are done.  Probably the bottom bracket is done too.  I looked at Yamaha and really liked them.  Also looked at Mercedes.  Very nice!

Bought a new bike, tomorrow. 2024 Kona Dew. The bike shop called me up, dropped $100, a deal on factory option fenders, and will swap all stuff off the old bike, rack, bush bars, etc. 5 yr guarantee, lifetime on frame, free service for a year.

Starvation diet.

Money not spent on food can be applied to buying a faster bicycle.
