I will move on to something more simple like a nuclear particle reactor. mLolol, at least it would have an owners manual. I hear your frustration. I finally got things working after following the video that James sent me. There is not a hope in hell that I could have found the steps needed to , essentially resize and reformat pics taken by an iPhone 12 , accepted to the forum. And that’s the big thing, limited size capability, 250kb or less, and, format, JPEG. All of that is done within the IPhone, and that with the IPhone, a suitable picture is made, and formatted using the ‘Files’ APP which if it is not already on your IPhone, it’s downloaded from the APP area within 10 seconds. Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: Fatkid on January 11, 2025, 02:16:05 PM This is a test after cropping John's photo
Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: Fatkid on January 11, 2025, 02:22:24 PM It seemed to work. I brought the top border down and the bottom border up to give it more of a landscape look. It seems if you don't take the photo landscape (phone 1/4 turn left) you will get the squished look.

Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: Galactica on January 18, 2025, 09:49:43 PM Here’s a pic of my dad’s Winchester model 1906, .22 pump. Manufactured from 1906-1932. From the serial number, I reckon it was made in 1925. My dad got it second hand in the late ‘20s or early ‘30s. When he passed away, I inherited it. I’ve recently passed it on to my youngest son who lives in Vernon and is a very active hunter and fisherman.
The rifle changed over its manufacturing run. Initially the barrel was a bit shorter and it was chambered for .22 shorts. By the time this rifle was built, the barrel was a bit longer and it would take shorts, longs, and long rifle bullets. I was shooting it with my son in November and it still shoots dead on with the sight set at 50 yards. An amazing 100 year old piece. Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: Twisted_Twin on January 19, 2025, 07:28:41 AM Very nice Ross.
I've got a Stevens .410 from about the same period. Old enough there's no serial number and no safety. It's single action so it doesn't really need one. Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: fffCycles on January 19, 2025, 12:39:38 PM I have to make some decisions about the guns I got from my Dad, a 1925 model Winchester 30-30 lever action and two sporterised Enfield .303’s. Then from one uncle the 1878 Waffen Fabriken .41 rim-fire,1923 .303 Enfield military issue, two1950’s Remington 30-06 and the three 12 gauge shotguns. Then another uncle’s 30-06 and then the Spanish made .410/.22 over and under.
These fed our families for decades but few are interested any more Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: rz5mark on January 19, 2025, 01:09:40 PM My dad collected mainly Remington rolling block firearms for 60-70 years. He ended up sending them to an auction in Ontario a year a go and did fairly well with the 60-70 guns.
Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: Steve G. on January 19, 2025, 02:43:57 PM I used to have a few shotguns and rifles. For 30 yrs I used to go bird hi ting with my dad and his buddies south of Lethbridge in the fall. Dad with his 20 gauge Beretta auto, and mt with my JCHiggins 12 gauge pump “shoulder dislocating device”. And of course out on the farm I had my old Cooye single shot 22, shoot target practice , rabbits, and crows. We were a bit nutbar. Cops came over and said not to do that anymore. We’re talking 1960’s.
I’ve lost my old FAC, thinking of redoing my training courses, get back into it. Gotta be ready for the society breakdown! Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: Steve G. on January 19, 2025, 02:44:38 PM My story.

Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: Galactica on January 22, 2025, 06:16:09 PM It seems,,,,,,,,cold in the picture. That’s a picture of a picture that is in my house. No, not particularly cold. That’s our first camp after being dropped off by the helicopter. About 7,000ft at the head of the Elaho Glacier. First week of June, 2010. It was a Saturday. Spent the next week skiing out to Meager Creek Hotsprings. For the most part we had bluebird warm weather. Only had one day where we didn’t travel due to weather. A couple of nights I didn’t sleep in the tent, I was out under the stars. We’d parked a vehicle on the road up to Meager Creek as far up as the snow would permit. My last and best backcountry ski trip. Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: Steve G. on January 22, 2025, 06:51:17 PM Wasn’t there a massive landslide up there in 2024-2016??? I was riding up there near Pemberton, when police walked into the restaurant my girlfriend and I were having breakfast at, told us we had 10 minutes to head east to Lilloett or south to Whistler because of pending superfood which was the blocked river. We headed up the hill to Lilloett. Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: Galactica on January 22, 2025, 07:16:29 PM Yes. Some years ago, not sure if the hotsprings have reopened.

The bridge was never replaced. It was one of the biggest slides in BC history. It blocked off the Lillooet River for a few days until the water overflowed the slide. You can hike into Meagher from the South side...there is a trail from the upper end of the Elaho River but it's a long hike, about a day or maybe two.

Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: kilowop on January 26, 2025, 10:34:35 AM In all my years of riding here, in the USA, in England or in New Zealand, I have yet to see a real Live MV Augusta on the road. Too expensive to risk a "get-off" or theft?
Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: Steve G. on January 26, 2025, 02:46:56 PM I guy I know from the BMOC bought a new 2004 MV Brutale 750 from a dealer in Burlington, WA, during a time when there was a huge hole in the Canadian RIV inclusion list, very reasonable prices actually. Of course Cdn direct purchase, the prices are insane. They have a model that $99,900. I toured the factory 15 yrs ago, just after Harley Davidson sold it for 1$ Dollar back to Mr. Castiglioni. They had tons of cash, the production line was casual to outright lazy. Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: kilowop on January 26, 2025, 06:08:00 PM Italian factories....not known for their productivity in some cases.
Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: Twisted_Twin on January 27, 2025, 07:02:36 AM Italian factories....not known for their productivity in some cases. I worked with a guy who was from the USSR. Before it fell apart. We had some interesting conversations about how things worked under communism. I asked him about how things got made in Russia and if the quality was really as bad as we are led to believe in North America. His response was: "Say you work in a factory that makes chairs and you have a quota of 30 chairs per month. If you're smart, you work easy and make one chair a day for 30 days. But you're actually lazy so instead of making one chair a day, you drink vodka every day for 28 days, then try to make 30 chairs in 2 days." Title: Re: Random Pictures Post by: Steve G. on January 27, 2025, 09:29:10 AM I worked with a fellow, Manfred, who escaped former East Germany. He worked at the Trabant car factory. He spent most of the time drinking coffee with the rest of the crew, and carving their initials in every part of the factory, waiting for bulk materials, and waiting for equipment to be fixed. Utter cluster-####.
