Title: Ethanol Fuel Report October 11/24
Post by: Steve G. on October 11, 2024, 10:10:01 PM

This thread only for those who wish to store their motorbike or any other gas powered machine through the winter with no concerns of ethanol damage. I can confirm that again, the only fuel supplier on Metro Vancouver  selling 0% ethanol additive is Otter Co-op 91. Tested Oct 11/24 @ 6pm.

I haven’t been able to get an answer. Maybe it’s ethanol supply. The nearest ethanol plant in Canada is in Saskatchewan. Nearest here in B.C. is a small facility within Cherry Point in Ferndale, WA. Maybe it’s the big boys having more contract power than the little suppliers.

If you look at the information written  on every fuel pump, it says “gasoline may contain ethanol”.

Hate to bring this up again.  Local lad based in Qualicum Beach, who says today,,,,,local Chevron is advertising 94 octane at 15% ethanol.
This is danger zone for most of my bikes.

I shall have to do intermittent testing this winter to see if there’s any basis to this.

I called out Chevron in Ashcroft, 94 advertised as ethanol free.

Chevon's bulk supplier is Parkland retail fuels. And ALL Chevron fuel contains 10% ethanol.

  You are correct.

A contact I have in Qualicum is indicating that Chevron's on Vancouver Island are advertising 15%. Probably no basis at all that Van Isle would have unique blends all their own.

I'm in Abbotsford tomorrow , be doing testing.

  15% is a game changer.

Parkland owns the Burnaby refinery.  They also own Chevron stations in BC
