Title: Peachland Vintage and Collectable Motorcycle Show 2024
Post by: jetta90 on September 03, 2024, 10:18:57 PM
The Peachland Vintage and Collectable Motorcycle show was again held on Beach Avenue along the lake shore of Lake Okanagan in Peachland this past Sunday (Sept 1st).
It would be an understatement if it was said the show was a success.  It was glorious!
Thank you Boris, Peggy, Beau, Keith and all the organizers and helpers!  Job well done!
The weather was nothing short of spectacular, sunny and warm with hardly a cloud in the sky.
I wouldn't know where to begin with attendance numbers, but suffice it to say, there were a lot of people that turned up and enjoyed the venue.  It was very well attended.
Great variety of motorcycles on display as well.  At one point, my show grounds display motorcycle count was at 53, but there were others that
arrived after my count, so maybe there is a more official number available.  The 53+ displayed does not include all the motorcycles that were parked along Beach Ave that
riders rode in.
Yeah, it was a very good show!
Some pictures (in no particular order) will follow.
To those who attended, please feel free to add your comments and additional pics below.
Looking forward to next year's show. :)

Good job on the photos, Claudio.   I won't add any of mine as they mainly duplicate the far superior product you have posted.

In my system, Windows 11, this is what I do:

Right click on saved image
Box pops up, which includes "resize image"
Slide picture quality to 10%
Set size to 45-50%, just to get size to less than 250kb.
Save result as new description where you can find it again later.....(Howard)....

Oh.  I don’t have windows.  We have stupid apple products.  And I don’t want to pay the subscription for windows etc.

My wife makes nice apple pies and apple crisp.  Unfortunately I’m stuck with apple electronics.

Similar to Runningdog, I am working from a Windows platform.  And although my version is ancient (I understand the 8.1 version is no longer supported) and requires some additional work, it seems to work well.
I'm unfamiliar with the Apple product but I'm sure it must have provision for resizing images.  There must be a "Tools" or "Edit" function in the menu bar once you have a saved image opened?
Beware:  I am NOT a tech kinda guy.

On another note, and keeping to the spirit of this thread - the Peachland bike event was really very good.  ;D

Yeah, great work on the pictures!!
So just a couple more questions regarding downloading,,,,you are using a smart phone camera? A non-Apple smart phone camera?? A digital camera???

Yes, using my non-Apple smart phone for the pictures.  It's a Samsung Galaxy A12.

That’s gotta be it. I’ve got the same issues as Ross downloading pics to a small enough %. I’ve even downloaded the pics onto my Windows based desktop, used its ability to reduce “size”.. no go.

Apple makes you download a separate unusable app.  Then you have to transfer pics back and forth in a nonsensical manner.

Maybe I should just pull out my old digital Canon fully automatic camera.

If you email photos from a iphone you get several size options.  Works for me.

Woo Hoo!!!  I did it.  For a while there Apple didn’t allow you to save a shrunken photo in your library.  It does now.  So you have to email shrunken photos to yourself, store them in your library, then choose the shrunken photo to post it.  Then so you don’t have a load of duplicate photos in your library, you might want to delete the shrunken photos after posting.

Ok, more details Ross. You email the shrunken pic  from the Apple devise? From a Windows desktop? Do you accept it from an Apple device? Accept it from an Apple device?      Library storage on your Apple phone? Library storage from your Windows desktop??

Ok.
Photo taken on iPhone
From library, select photo(s)
Email them to yourself choosing “medium” size
Open email
Choose a photo, then at the top is an arrow, click that for a menu
Choose “save to library”
Repeat for each photo
Compose post on BCCMC forum
Post pics as per usual from your library
All on iPhone

Clear as mud?

On my Apple 4 phone go to the photos and check off 3 of them (no more than 3 per posting)  Email those three items to yourself and select medium size on your options,  small is too small and big will end up being too large of an attachment.  Save the three photos from your email to a file or your desktop ( to be deleted at a later date)  then you can post on our site and add the three pictures.  ( I think you already are familiar with that last step)
Good Luck!

Wondering why your photos are distorted.

I just save them to my download file on my computer (Apple) and delete after using them.
