Anyone for a ride to the wooden nickel this Sat and make it for 11am so it warms up a bit?

I just got an email from Ron to meet at the Falkland pub at 1.30 for lunch this sat.

We coulda done that, too, but for the written in stone Penticton visit.

Well, looks like we missed the opportunity....The Wooden Nickle is closing, due to excess costs of running.  Too bad, liked the homey environment.

Remind me, where is (WAS?) the Wooden Nickel located?   Can't recall if I ever was there.  Of course most days I can't recall where the hell I was when I woke up in the morning.

We are thinking of having breakfast this Sat at 10 at the Nickle if anyone is interested.

You know, the Nickle is not the same with the new owners.  Slow service, etc. They are friendly, but just don't seem to have the organization, yet.
Lets think of an alternate place.

The Nickle sucks! Woody’s Pub opens at 10 on weekends and  does a good breakfast. Try that.

They did seam slow the last time we were there.

The Pub...is that the place across from the former Ranch?  Can you check their hours...I seem to remember meeting there once and they weren't open for food until noon.

According to their website, they open at 9am Sats and Suns, but no breakfast on their menu.   Next idea?

I wonder why they would open that early without breakfast. I tried to call but no answer but will drop by and ask them.

Falkland pub is closed for renovations.

I am willing to go to Woodys next Sat but not sure if the Kamloops, Chase boys would go that far.

The way the weather is I might just insure my bike and ride down.

Different owners and they don't open till 11am and no breakfast. Now there is Dinner 97 in Westwold that could be an option.

They have some round booths that a few people could fit into depending how many would be coming.

I'd drive to Westwold.

Ok lets go there. I will see how many are coming and get a both saved if needed.

I’ve driven or ridden past there many times but never stopped.  How about a review when you’ve finished?

I was at the place in Westwood several times last summer.  It seems to be quite popular, and when I was there, the food was good, like REAL Fries, not those damn frozen things.  BUT like most places, a lot depends on who the cook is on the day you go there.  It's a funky place with Nostalgia pictures, record album jackets on the walls, etc. They have several booths that will hold 6 -8 people if you're friendly, plus normal tables. I have nothing particular on my Schedule for Saturday, so I'll watch how this develops, and plan to be there to get caught up on the winter Hi-Jinks.

Weather forecast for Saturday is looking decent.  Partly sunny and plus 12.  If that holds up, I'll be heading for Westwold for sure.

OK, change of venue.  Heard from a reliable source that Eatology in downtown Vernon is good.  3100 30st, in the old bus depot.  10am Saturday.   Sorry about that, you folks from the north, but if you don't feel like driving that far, we can do a meet in Westwold or even closer to you further into the spring.
