Not for motorcycles though.  For bicycles.  Anyone riding a belt drive bike?  How do you like it?

M. I’ve never seen or heard of a belt drive pedal bike or pedal bike retro kit. And to be honest I never would either, as the 38 yr old chain sprockets on my ‘86 Marin Bear Valley bush bike have performed to a level that would not push me to change .

Seems to me a belt on a bike would have to have two fixed sprockets.  You wouldn’t be able to shift gears with belt without some kind of internal mechanism or variable speed motor.

Bikes with belts have a gearbox built into the rear hub. Some have electric shift and can actually be set to a different gear before you start riding.

Guy at work has one, planetary rear hub trans. He really like it, whisper quiet and and no lube up your leg....That sounds wrong...

I've been looking at them online.  I like the idea but I also like my dual suspension Kona and I haven't seen a dual suspension belt drive.  Probably because they have no tension device.

They apparently are good for thousands of kilometers. 

These are belt drive.  Looks like the future to me.

Intriguing.  And very cool.  But looks really expensive looking at the competitive mountain bikes.
