Title: Area 27 Ride Post by: Runningdog on June 02, 2023, 06:18:05 AM Anybody up for a ride down to Area 27 at Oliver, BC, on Tuesday, June 6? According to to their schedule, that day is track day for their Motorcycle School, which will run Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
I will be leaving West Kelowna about 8:30ish, likely still taking the Summerland Detour (Giants Head Rd/Gartrell Rd) around the highway work at the bottom of Summerland hill. Anyone is welcome, maybe an early lunch on Oliver, back home before the day gets too hot. I am happy going by myself, but it is a nice ride, and interesting destination. When I went to Penticton last Monday, I didn't actually time how long I had to wait at the slide. I'd guess 50, maybe 60 seconds. About 5 minutes on the way back. They're using automated traffic lights, which seems to be working. Title: Re: Area 27 Ride Post by: hardrockminer on June 03, 2023, 03:54:16 AM I'd enjoy the ride but would have to start early. But my ride is down right now...I'm changing a rear tire. Seems like everything on a Goldwing is a huge project.

Unlike south of the border, we have much fewer options for main grid highways, and paved back road exploration potential. |
