Title: Merry Christmas and Best of 2023
Post by: Steve G. on December 23, 2022, 07:11:21 PM

Wishing everyone the very best to you and yours!!

And hope for a fantastic 2023, full of 2 wheeled joy!!!

I’ve got a series of plans for next year, after pretty well a 3.5 year of reduced activity for various reasons, most of which revolve around “the thing”. I’m actually attempting to enter into some form of retirement, after 45 years of being a tax payer, I plan on being a tax taker now. Waking up and looking at the ceiling waiting for the 5:29am alarm to go off is going to be a very hard habit to clear off, I can tell you .
Pre “2019-2022” thing, including the gong show of catch-up at work non stop after “the thing”, my long standing habit/hobby of taking in motorcycle themed events will be resumed to normal level. This hobby of motorcycling we have puts us in a special place among hobbies/passions, one of technical achievement, adrenaline rush, social interaction, friendship, high achievement and very memorable unique travel goals, and certainly much better financial investment situation than FTX crypto investments with your super hero sports stars (maybe).

  Go 2023!

Merry Christmas to you too Steve.  My own experience at retirement has gone on for four years.  You're not going to like this but I get up even earlier than I did when I worked.

Best of 2023 is:
COVID-19 emergency border measures have ended

For all travellers entering Canada by air, land or marine mode on or after October 1, 2022:

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is not required
COVID-19 pre-entry and arrival tests are not required
Quarantine after you enter Canada is not required
Using ArriveCAN is not required
To save time at the border, you can still use ArriveCAN to complete your customs and immigration declaration before flying into Canada. Visit ArriveCAN: Advance CBSA Declaration for the list of participating international airports.
Pre-boarding tests for cruise passengers are not required
As always, travel documents are required
Health checks to board planes and trains are not required
Wearing masks on planes and trains is not required
It's still strongly recommended that you wear a high quality and well-fitted mask or respirator while you travel

United States ‘official stance’ is the need for CBF vaccination to enter. In the 40-50 times I’ve entered the USA land border I’ve not been asked once.
Have not flown into the USA since before CBF lockdown.
