Title: Carb balancer Post by: Galactica on April 20, 2022, 09:41:35 AM Does anyone have a column type balancer I can borrow? I’d like to check the injection synchronization on my MT09.

Title: Re: Carb balancer Post by: Galactica on April 22, 2022, 07:26:26 AM Thanks Stan, Bucko has already offered his Morgan Carbtune unit. We just have to find a day to hook up.

Title: Re: Carb balancer Post by: Steve G. on April 25, 2022, 09:26:32 PM I've got a Motion Pro 4 line, mercury stick style. Did me well when I had the 3 CBX's. Title: Re: Carb balancer Post by: Galactica on April 26, 2022, 05:40:27 PM Many thanks Dave. Dave “Bucko” lent me his Morgan Carbtune. A very nice piece of kit. Wish I’d had one years ago. I have a cheap set of dial vacuum gauges that I fought with tuning the carbs on my Zs. Dave, thanks again very much.
I was pretty simple, although time consuming, to check the injection synchronization on my MTT09. You have to remove all the redundant cladding, fuel tank, and air box. Then remove the inlet port caps to install the Carbtune hoses. Reinstall the fuel tank (without the air box) and check/adjust the synchronization. Then reverse the process. Took me about two hours. I’ve a love/hate relationship with this bike. I love/hate that it’s pretty much perfect for me. The synch was dead on, nothing to be done. It performs flawlessly with more excitement (if I get into the throttle) than I can handle. But with none of the character of my old Zs. I love it for all of it’s competence, reliability, and modern-ness, but I miss the character and soul of my old bikes. At any rate, the injection synchronization is spot on.
